NLP Practitioner

Change your thinking process to facilitate more positive outcomes.
Although more widely used in therapy, I will employ certain NLP techniques during coaching sessions when I believe there would be a benefit to the client. During my sessions I will always encourage my client to follow the guiding principles of NLP – i.e. know what you want to achieve, be aware of your self and others so that you know whether you are moving towards or away from your desired outcome and have sufficient flexibility to be able to keep changing your behaviour until you achieve your outcome
What is it?
  • NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming and can be described as a method of influencing brain behaviour (the "neuro" part of the phrase) through the use of language (the "linguistic" part) and other types of communication to enable a person to "recode" the way the brain responds to stimuli (that's the "programming") and manifest new and better behaviours.
NLP for coaching?
  • Yes, although NLP is widely used in therapy, several techniques lend themselves well to coaching too.
